    I really liked the "it might not be 'yes or no', it could be purple or algae". I have been thinking a lot about what may be caused by people only seeing things in a true or false as well as what may enable/influence it. Oddly enough that line of thought was sparked by a maths theory that relies on having to accept that everything can be defined as either true or false. It felt shoe horned to me to make it work to me. Then I fanned out from that wondering what imposing that assumption on other ideas may donto them...if that makes any sense. I love his work in general, but I thought that was a good quip. ☮️🇺🇦

    While Professor Snyder's intellectual analysis is outstanding, regrettably his proposed solutions either at the political, social, or personal levels seem less likely to happen than an asteroid striking the planet before 2040. If we are depending on political will to address global warming, the growth of autocracy, local news deserts, monopolies, or social factionalism, then our game is already over . . .

    • @Acekhan201
      @Acekhan201 2 роки тому

      Not with that attitude anyway. Some of us have been waiting for folks to get off their butts and really into the game. While I am new to Snyder and his work, my closest friends and I can all generally point to as far back as the 90s and noting these kinds of issues in a basic way - as children. Now that we are adults, we aren't waiting for the lazy, stupid or vicious to change anymore. We are just getting out there and fighting for greater truth, justice and equality any way we can and we do not waste time respecting sacred cows. Don't wait for others. If you know what needs done, go and get started!

      @@Acekhan201 Yes: "all evil needs to succeed is for good men to do nothing." Got it. And we all should have the courage of our convictions, because you can certainly bet that the "the lazy, stupid or vicious," as you put it, aren't going anywhere.

    Just an observation, but if Fox News evening personalities, as well as members of Limbaugh’s circle, we’re required by law, after having almost destroyed the nation, to tell their believers the truth, it could fix this whole problem!

    As democracy has historically been a grande illusion, so is the keeping of its dichotomy. If we refuse to “control” the parameters of our “freedom” on the political and, more importantly, the legal stage, we will lose our freedom as expected. The cells within a body can’t be free if the body is to be.

    Begins at 9:39 Dr. Snyder, it seems to me, has been working relentlessly to share as he learns how we acn help save this civilization in all corners of the globe; I especially appreciate that he emphasizes that one is hardly 'free' when we do not have our physical - and mental, I add, health and health services. Why are we so shy as to not be demanding full health care while we spend endless doallars on killing around the world, as well as in this country with the assistance of the DOJ and Police... Do we understnd what it means to truly VALUE something??? Make me wonder. Peace, ehs

    The human species coming into existence was a huge mistake. Either god messed up or evolution took a wrong turn. Humans have never in the past or present lived in peace and harmony with themselves or the plant and animal ecosystems in which we need to exist. We are a continuous rolling savage destructive animal now and forever.

    My biggest digital habit is watching lectures like this...that's a habit I'm not willing to break right now. The digital media is like any tool -- it can be used to instruct or indoctrinate and I submit that one has a choice as to how you use this tool. Like any media, the fundamental issue is not the mechanism but the ability to use the information the media conveys. This is an issue of education and values: perhaps a better educated populace would prefer a history lecture over watching the Khardashians,

    Hello Professor Snyder, I just watched your lesson 16 - Learn From Peers in Other Countries....Comments were not allowed so I am commenting here. I met you in Vienna about 3 years ago at a lecture you gave and I agree with everything you are saying....HOWEVER, Is it possible for you and anyone who is propagating your ideas to think about the way they are " framing" your ideas and truths. I, like many people who follow you, are already in sync with most everything you write and speak about. ......The people who need to be reached are those who often don't have the patience to listen to someone speaking rather intellectually and NPR-ish - too conversational...(I am having a problem explaining this correctly - have lived in Europe for 48 years) I spy across the great sky above us over to the USA and am in wonder at how ignorant some Americans are. In order to reach these people who are NOT interested in having peers in other countries and even think, if living in for instance Nevada or Wyoming, that the people on the East coast are snobs and out of touch with their needs and preferences, one must cater to them and talk in their language - (Sorry, but it is often the succinct and commercially framed language of "FOX" ). Do we want to reach these people or not? The Democrats in the US are so ignorant of what is really going on in the hearts of those people be it right or wrong....that they do not try and really use the proper language and frame their messages with respect for their listeners but also in such a way that they will stand up and listen. You have so much to teach these people. Is it possible to somehow find a way to get the facts of history etc. into the minds of people who seem only interested in listening to people like commentators on populist programs...? Sylvia Carlson - Austria - Montana USA

      I wonder do you think that the truth is only to be found in the coastal East and or West of the USA? Prof. Snyder wrote the road to unfreedom when Donald Trump won the election in 2016. It seems to me however that we now are on the road to unfreedom without Trump. How could this be happening?...With the coastal elites screaming for censorship...cheering on experimental pharmaceuticals...worshipping billionaires because they have our utmost interests upfront and center...

      I too have been a follower of Professor Sunder for yrs. also and I don't agree with with either of you. Not that you both don't have valid points in your "replies'. I don't have time right this moment but maybe we could make a thread and have mini- study group hear each other point of view. Let me, I will check back later for a couple of days and see if either one of you or both are game. Thanks 😀

    I’m just reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley (1932) and it’s remarkable how the idea of values and truth being the foundations of freedom are echoed by Professor Snyder. The advice on needing to have a politics of the future was intoxicating, thank you for this slice of expertise, insight, and guidance 🙏❤️

    You already have racial Justice. White men fought a bloody war to free you from the same Democrat mindset that enslaved you and is still using you. Wake up and smell the Luciferian race baiting. Nebakabiden rode in a parade with the Grand Dragon of the KKK. I saw him with my own eyes. He is still using black individuals. They want you and your babies dead. Do some research. Hillary said she admired Margaret Sanger, the queen of Eugenics. How is it Planned Parenthood is placed in predominantly black areas of cities. Hillary is a witch. She sacrifices aborted and live babies to Baal. Nothing going on now is to your benefit unless you worship Satan. Remember this, he always eats his own!
